The Lukins Water Difference
Lukins Brothers Water Company, Inc. provides domestic water service to over 975 customers in the South Lake Tahoe Area. By written agreement, Lukins also provides fire protection through fire hydrants in its service area. Our service area is totally within the city limits of South Lake Tahoe, CA.
Brothers, Melvin and Glen Lukins built Lukins Brothers Water Company between 1947 and 1967 to serve seasonal and annual residents in Lukins subdivision. Lukins first network of water mains was supplied by various wells. As subdivisions were created by El Dorado County, Lukins expanded within its current district boundaries. In 1953, Lukins was granted a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to serve the system’s 20 customers who were serviced by two-inch and four-inch mains. After the City’s 1965 incorporation, Lukins and the City of South Lake Tahoe executed a Franchise Agreement.
Lukins Brothers Water Company Inc., is now owned and operated by Melvin’s son and grandson, Danny and Grant Lukins. The system includes approximately 58,000 feet if water mains.
We are dedicated to delivering our customers safe, reliable drinking water. Lukins works closely with local, state and federal agencies to provide our customers the best quality drinking water.

Lukins Brothers Water Company has been family owned and operated since 1947. Since that time we have been providing residents of South Lake Tahoe with utility water service.
Lukins is a Class C water company regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission. We serve predominately residential and commercial customers.
ONLINE CUSTOMER ACCOUNT PORTAL-
Lukins customers can now VIEW and PAY accounts online! To take advantage of this new feature visit the UB-Pay website and set up your account by simply clicking on the GREEN Customer Portal button or visiting http://www.ub-pay.com.
Through this portal you can view your current account balance and past bills, and pay your bill online. Avoid costly late fees by utilizing the convenience of this new feature.
During the registration process you will need to enter your Municipality Code. Lukins’ Municipality Codes are:
Flat Rate Quarterly Customers- LukinsBrosWater
Metered Monthly Customers- LukinsBrosMetered
Your name and any necessary information will need to be entered EXACTLY as it appears on your bill.
Online payments are processed through eNetPay, and are subject to a $3.00 per $100.00 payment processing fee. eNetPay is a third party processing company.
